Regulation 3-3 - Safe access to tanker bows

  1 For the purpose of this regulation and regulation 3-4, tankers include oil tankers as defined in regulation 2.22, chemical tankers as defined in regulation VII/8.2 and gas carriers as defined in regulation VII/11.2.

  2 Every tanker shall be provided with the means to enable the crew to gain safe access to the bow even in severe weather conditions. Such means of access shall be approved by the Administration based on the guidelines developed by the Organization. footnote
