16.2 Arrangement of machinery spaces of category A

  16.2.1 Spaces in which gas fuel is utilized should be fitted with a mechanical ventilation system and should be arranged in such a way as to prevent the formation of dead spaces. Such ventilation should be particularly effective in the vicinity of electrical equipment and machinery or of other equipment and machinery which may generate sparks. Such a ventilation system should be separate from those intended for other spaces.

  16.2.2 Gas detectors should be fitted in these spaces, particularly in the zones where air circulation is reduced. The gas detection system should comply with the requirements of chapter 13.

  16.2.3 Electrical equipment located in the double wall pipe or duct specified in 16.3.1 should be of the intrinsically safe type.
