3.1 Capacity plan

  3.1.1 This subsection should contain a scaled drawing showing the layout of cargo spaces, tanks, stores, machinery spaces and crew/passenger accommodation. Cargo spaces and tanks should be suitably identified by purpose, names and/or numbers consistent with other information in this manual.

  3.1.2 The above plan should, in addition, present:

  • .1 reference planes and the rise of keel, where applicable;

  • .2 frames, frame spacing and numbering; and

  • .3 location of draught marks forward, mid and aft.

  3.1.3 The reference planes should preferably be at the:

  • .1 aft perpendicular for the longitudinal coordinates;

  • .2 centre line for the transverse coordinates; and

  • .3 base line for the vertical coordinates.

  3.1.4 The above plan should, in addition, present a diagram of the load line marks showing:

  • .1 position of the deck line relative to the ship;

  • .2 draught to the summer load waterline;

  • .3 draught to the summer timber load waterline;

  • .4 corresponding freeboards; and

  • .5 deadweight scale.
