The owner/operator or Master should ensure that the crew
are provided with at least the minimum hours of rest. These should
not be less than:
Hours of rest may be divided into no more than 2 periods; one
of which should be at least 6 hours long, and the interval in between
should not exceed 14 hours.
It is expected that as far
as practicable the Master will arrange for conducting emergency drills
such as musters, fire-fighting and abandon vessel drills in a way
which minimises the disturbance to rest periods and provide compensatory
rest for seafarers whose normal rest is disturbed by call-outs for
drills.
