2.1.1 Main and essential auxiliary machinery is to operate satisfactorily
under the conditions as shown in Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.1, Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.3 or Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.3.

NOTES
|
1.
Athwartships and fore-and-aft inclinations may occur
simultaneously.
|
2.
Where the length of the unit exceeds 100 m, the fore-and-aft static angle
of inclination may be taken as:
|
degrees
|
where
L = length of unit, in metres, see
Pt 4, Ch 1, 5 Definitions.
|
2.1.3 The dynamic angles of inclination in Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.1, Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.3 or Pt 5, Ch 1, 2.1 Inclination of unit 2.1.3 may be exceeded in certain circumstances,
dependent upon type of unit and operation. The Builder is, therefore, to ensure that
the machinery is capable of operating under these angles of inclination.
