Section 7 Military distinction notations

7.1 These notations are classified information and are confidential to the Navy and LR. They come under a Government’s security regime. They will not be shown in the Register Book or with the Survey Status of the ship. Every care must be taken to maintain confidentiality when this information is known to the Surveyor or any other personnel. They must not be disclosed to any other party who is not authorized to have access to them. LR staff will be held personally responsible for any breach of the requirements of any security regime.

7.2 Military distinction notations will sometimes require additional attention at survey, e.g. bulkhead boundaries, shock mounting of equipment, hard spots and associated crack initiation, and the need for some doors to withstand greater pressure from blast. General guidance is given in Chapter 15 and specific information will be advised to Surveyors as and when it becomes necessary.
