8.1.1 The data and information on the structural
condition of the ship collected during the survey should be evaluated
for acceptability and continued structural integrity of the ship.
8.1.2 In case of oil tankers of 130 m in length
and upwards (as defined in the International Convention
on Load Lines in force), the ship's longitudinal strength should
be evaluated by using the thickness of structural members measured,
renewed and reinforced, as appropriate, during the renewal survey
of safety construction carried out after the ship reached 10 years
of age, in accordance with the criteria for longitudinal strength
of the ship's hull girder for oil tankers specified in annex 12.
8.1.3 The analysis of data should be carried out
and endorsed by the Administration and the conclusions of the analysis
should form a part of the condition evaluation report.
8.1.4 The final result of the evaluation of the
ship's longitudinal strength required in 8.1.2, after renewal or reinforcement
work of structural members, if carried out as a result of initial
evaluation, should be reported as a part of the condition evaluation
report.
