2.4 Sources

 Possible sources of inert gas on tankers including combination carriers are:

  • .1 the uptake from the ship's main or auxiliary boilers;

  • .2 an independent inert gas generator; or

  • .3 a gas turbine plant when equipped with an afterburner.
