4 General information:

 The gas carriers accepted under this notification of equivalence will have independent cargo tanks. They will have an arrangement suitable for tank cleaning by ventilation procedures. Tank cleaning with water will be prohibited as a normal procedure. Ballasting of cargo tanks will be prohibited except for the purpose of securing the safety of the vessel (ref. Regulation 11). The vessels will be fitted with deep well pumps. Pumps with submerged electrical motors will not be accepted.
