2 Category B

 The expression at the end of this paragraph, "when particular weight is given to additional factors in the hazard profile or to special characteristics of the substance", implies that:

  • .1 The substance is highly objectionable with regard to the reduction of amenities (as expressed by a hazard rating XXX in column E) subject to the proviso that the substance is non-volatile (vapour pressure < I mmHg at 20C) and insoluble (solubility <2 g/100 ml at 20C); otherwise it may be rated as Category C.
