2.2 Terms, symbols and units

  2.2.1 It is of utmost importance for the practical use of the manual by the mariner that terms, symbols and units comply with relevant ISO standards.footnote A statement of this compliance should be given in this section.

  2.2.2 The terms, symbols and units considered necessary in a typical loading and stability manual are shown in table 1. Sketches, such as shown in figures 1, 2 and 3, depicting the above symbols, should be included in the manual as deemed appropriate.
