4.11.1 Following the preliminary approval, the
Submitter will advance into the next phase of the project, this involves
the Final design and subsequently required risk assessments, testing
and analyses. These phases are more detailed versions of the phases
prior to preliminary approval. It will result in an increased understanding
of the alternative and/or equivalency design features, and both the
Submitter and the Administration will gain confidence in the design
as the level of accuracy increases.
4.11.2 The objective of this phase is to elaborate
the preliminary design to a corresponding Final design. This Final
design complies with the results of the preliminary analysis with
respect to risk control options already identified and the requirements
of the Administration. The final design is developed on the basis
of the statement by the Administration.
