5.9.1 General

  5.9.1.1 Detailed descriptions of the recommended sampling and analysing systems are contained in 5.9.2 to 5.9.4. Since various configurations may produce equivalent results, exact conformance with these figures is not required. Additional components, such as instruments, valves, solenoids, pumps, and switches, may be used to provide additional information and co-ordinate the functions of the component systems. Other components which are not needed to maintain the accuracy on some systems, may be excluded if their exclusion is based upon good engineering judgement.

  5.9.1.2 The settings of inlet restriction and exhaust backpressure shall be adjusted to the upper limits as specified by the manufacturer in accordance with 5.2.4 and 5.2.5, respectively.
