3 Strength Check against Impact Loads
3.1 General
3.1.1 Structural response against impact loads such as forward bottom slamming, bow impact and grab chocks depends on the loaded area, magnitude of loads and structural grillage.
3.1.2 The ultimate strength of structural members that constitute the grillage, i.e. platings between stiffeners and primary supporting members and stiffeners with attached plating, is to be checked against the maximum impact loads acting on them.
