A vessel for which stability is assessed on the basis of
practical tests or simplified methods, defined in Section 11 of the
Code, conducted by a competent person(s), should be approved by the
Certifying Authority. In order to give approval, the Certifying Authority
should be satisfied that the requirements have been met, accepting
the results obtained and keeping a detailed record of the procedure
of the tests or calculations and the results which were accepted.
The Certifying Authority should file the details in the records
retained for the vessel, and these details are to be entered on the

of a Stability Guidance Booklet.
