4.9.2 Water spray system

 A lifeboat which has a water spray flre-protection system shall comply with the following:

  • .1 water for the system shall be drawn from the sea by a self-priming motor pump. It shall be possible to turn "on" and turn "off" the flow or water over the exterior of the lifeboat;

  • .2 the seawater intake shall be so arranged as to prevent the intake of flammable liquids from the sea surface; and

  • .3 the system shall be arranged for flushing with fresh water and allowing complete drainage.
