When discharging at full capacity through 2 adjacent fire hydrants,
the pump should be capable of maintaining a water pressure of 0.2N/mm2 at any hydrant, provided the fire hose can be effectively
controlled at this pressure.
15A.2.2.2 The second fire pump, which may be portable,
should have a capacity of at least 80% of that required by 15A.2.2.1
and be capable of input to the fire main. A permanent sea connection,
external to the machinery space, should be provided. "Throw-over"
sea suctions are not acceptable.
15A.2.2.3 Each centrifugal fire pump should be
provided with a non-return valve in the connection to the fire main.
