9.14 Fire-fighters’ outfits

  9.14.1 At least two fire-fighters’ outfits complying with the relevant requirements of the FSS Code should be provided, each with portable instruments for measuring oxygen and flammable vapour concentrations acceptable to the Administration.

  9.14.2 Two spare charges should be provided for each required breathing apparatus. Units that are equipped with suitably located means for fully recharging the air cylinders free from contamination need carry only one spare charge for each required apparatus.

  9.14.3 The fire-fighters’ outfits should be kept ready for use in an easily accessible location that is permanently and clearly marked. They should be stored in two or more widely separated locations.
