5 Struts, Pillars and Cross Ties

5.1 Buckling criteria

5.1.1 The compressive buckling strength of struts, pillars and cross ties is to satisfy the following criterion:

ηPillar : Maximum utilisation factor of struts, pillars or cross ties, as defined in Ch 8, Sec 5, [3.1].
