3.5.1 A corrosion test should be carried out.
In this test a complete device, including a section of the pipe to
which it is fitted, should be exposed to a 5% sodium chloride solution
spray at a temperature of 25°C for a period of 240 hours, and
allowed to dry for 48 hours. An equivalent test may be used to the
satisfaction of the Administration. Following this test, all movable
parts should operate properly and there should be no corrosion deposits
which cannot be washed off.
3.5.2 A hydraulic pressure test should be carried
out in the casing or housing of a sample device, in accordance with 2.2.1.
