1 An Administration may allow a particular ship
or a group of ships entitled to fly its flag to implement other security
measures equivalent to those prescribed in this chapter or in part A of the ISPS Code, provided such security
measures are at least as effective as those prescribed in this chapter
or part A of the ISPS Code. The Administration
which allows such security measures shall communicate to the Organization
particulars thereof.
2 When implementing this chapter and part A of the ISPS Code, a Contracting Government
may allow a particular port facility or a group of port facilities
located within its territory, other than those covered by an agreement
concluded under regulation 11,
to implement security measures equivalent to those prescribed in this
chapter or in Part A of the ISPS Code, provided such security measures
are at least as effective as those prescribed in this chapter or part A of the ISPS Code. The Contracting
Government which allows such security measures shall communicate to
the Organization particulars thereof.
