5.9 Data Display

  5.9.1 In addition to the recorded print-out, the current data should be visibly displayed and should as a minimum contain the following:

  • .1 instantaneous rate of discharge of oil (litres per nautical mile);

  • .2 total quantity of oil discharged (cubic metres or litres);

  • .3 instantaneous oil content (ppm);

  • .4 flow rate;

  • .5 ship's speed; and

  • .6 status of the overboard discharge control or arrangement.

  5.9.2 The data display should be located in a position easily observed by the person in charge of the overboard discharge operation.
