Section 35 Safety signage

35.1 Recognised codes and standards for signage

35.1.1 The following codes and standards are recognised by LR:

  • BS EN ISO 7010 Graphical symbols. Safety colours and safety signs. Registered safety signs
  • BS ISO 24409-1 Ships and marine technology – Design, location and use of shipboard safety signs, safety-related signs, safety notices and safety markings: Design principles
  • BS EN 82079-1 Preparation of instructions for use. Structuring, content and presentation. General principles and detailed requirements
