Section 5 Relative humidity (RH)

5.1 Humidification

5.1.1 Where a humidification system is fitted, the following requirements are to be complied with:

  1. The supply of fresh water for humidification is to be such as to minimise the risk of corrosion and contamination of the cargo.

  2. To prevent damage or blockage in the humidification system caused by water freezing, the air, steam or water pipelines in the cargo chambers are to be installed to facilitate ease of drainage and are to be provided with suitable heating arrangements.
