6.1.1 Major alterations

a ship’s service life;

6.1.2 A ‘Request
for Services’ (Form 2508), together with a scope of the work
to be undertaken, are to be submitted to the LR Naval liaison office
as soon as possible, and in all cases before work is commenced.
6.1.3 Effective
co-ordination of all classification requirements is essential and
is to be controlled by the local office with contract reviews conducted
strictly in accordance with Corporate Quality Procedures. In this
respect, it will be necessary for the Regional/Country Manager to
nominate a Local Project Manager to undertake co-ordination and control
responsibilities.
6.1.4 It is particularly
important that all aspects requiring plan approval are identified
at an early stage and controlled thereafter. Work undertaken by Plan
Approval Offices is sent direct to the Local Project Manager.
