1.1.1 This
Chapter covers the basis of the requirements for the design, construction,
testing, installation, trials and through life changes of engineering
systems installed in classed naval ships.
1.1.2 For
the purposes of these Rules, an engineering system is considered to
be a combination of interacting elements (sub-systems, equipment,
components, hardware, software), organised to achieve one or more
of the purposes stated in the Concept of Operations or the System
Operational Concept documents.
