Section 11 Direct calculations

11.1 Application

11.1.1 Direct calculations are to be employed in derivation of scantlings for general cargo ships as defined in Pt 4, Ch 1, 1.3 Class notations 1.3.6.

11.1.2 Direct calculation methods are also generally to be used where additional calculations are required by the Rules in respect of unusual structural arrangements.

11.2 Procedures

11.2.1 The direct calculations are to be made in accordance with LR’s ShipRight SDA Procedure for General Cargo Ships with a Long Hold.
