various components of mooring systems are to have, as a minimum, the
safety factors given in Table 7.6.1 Safety factors.
6.1.2 These
safety factors assume adequate regular inspection and/or renewal.
Higher safety factors may need to be considered if:

The linkspan
is outside protected waters (see
Pt 1, Ch 2, 1.2 Application 1.2.3), or
-
the in-service
operational wind, wave and current loadings are likely to be frequently
exceeded, or
-
regular and
adequate inspection and maintenance procedures may not be followed.
