Section 9 Deckhouses, bulwarks and superstructures
9.1 General
9.1.1 This Section contains local scantling requirements applicable to deckhouses, bulwarks and superstructures. All deckhouses, bulwarks and superstructures are to be evaluated according to Vol 1, Pt 6, Ch 4, 9.2 Minimum requirements.
9.2 Minimum requirements
9.2.1 If the Complementary Rules are the Rules for Naval Ships then the scantlings of plating and stiffeners are not to be less than those given in Vol 1, Pt 3, Ch 2, 7 Superstructures, deckhouses, bulwarks, sponsons and appendages of the Rules for Naval Ships.
9.2.2 If the Complementary Rules are the Rules for Ships then the scantlings of plating and stiffeners are not to be less than those given in Pt 3, Ch 8 Superstructures, Deckhouses and Bulwarks of the Rules for Ships.
9.2.3 If the Complementary Rules are the Rules for Special Service Craft then the scantlings of plating and stiffeners are not to be less than those given in Table 3.2.1 Minimum thickness requirements in Pt 6, Ch 3 of the Rules for Special Service Craft.
