10. When notified that the ship is in congested waters, the officer in charge of the engineering watch shall ensure that:

A) All machinery involved with manoeuvring can immediately be placed in the manual mode of operation and that emergency steering and other auxiliary equipment is ready for immediate operation B) The main engine is changed over to diesel oil at least one hour in advance C) The engine-room is placed in the periodic unmanned condition D) Permanent air or steam pressure is available for sound signals
