9. Notification to the bridge of any impending action in machinery spaces that may cause a reduction in the ship's speed shall, where possible, be given:

A) At the end of the engineering watch B) Only if the reduction exceeds two knots C) Immediately after the changes are made D) Before changes are made, to afford the bridge the maximum available time to take whatever action is possible
